FAQs

Q: How do I store fresh dog treats?

A: Our products are made fresh to order and do not contain preservatives or additives to give them an extended shelf life. We are a treat bakery, not a treat manufacturer. Our treats must be stored according to package directions:

Baked Treats & Extras
Perishable product! MUST be refrigerated for up to 5 days OR frozen for up to 2 monthsFreshly baked treats should NOT be stored at room temperature.

TIP: Try storing our baked treats in the freezer taking them down into the fridge as needed. This way you always have fresh healthy treats on hand.

Chews & Jerky
Store in a cool, dry place away from moisture for several weeks.

Cakes & Cupcakes
Refrigerate in an airtight container for 3-5 days or slice and freeze leftover portions for up to 2 months.

Q: Can I stop by the bakery to buy treats?

A: Our products are sold online only through our website for pick up and delivery, or customers can shop in-person at our weekly markets in the St. John’s metro area. Find details on our upcoming events on our website’s homepage. Our bakery and pet shop retail location will not be opening until late fall 2023.

Urban Market carries a selection of our products at 330 Lemarchant Road. Please contact Urban Market directly for their current selection.

Q: How much in advance should I order my dog's cake?

A: We always recommend ordering as early as possible! Until we’re into our new space we’re opening a month at a time. Advance notice will be posted on our social media when we are opening up bookings for the next month. Once we are moved into our new location we will take bookings for several months out at a time. Note that we book up quickly around weekends and holidays.

NEW Birthday Club  Sign up for our new Birthday Club and receive an email reminder to book your dog's cake, along with a 10% off coupon for birthday treats!

Q: Can I just buy one cupcake?

A: All of our products are made to order. Due to minimum batch sizes we do not sell individual cupcakes. Urban Market carries a selection of our products including individual cupcakes. Please contact them directly for their current selection.

Q: Do you do custom orders? I wanted blue icing on my dog's cake.

A: We do not use food colouring in any of our products. Since opening in 2015 we have strived to offer a healthier and nutritious alternative for our dog cakes. We also do not use typical bakery ingredients such as sugar and sweeteners, butter and regular extracts that can be harmful to our pets. Instead, we have a curated line of cake flavours that can be customized with our cake toppers.

Some of our cakes contain coloured sprinkles in small amounts which help to give the look that food colouring can lend, but can also be easily removed before consuming if you choose.

Q: I don't live near by. Can I order treats and have them shipped?

A: Because many of our products are perishable we do not offer shipping options.

Q: Wait, did I see treats with chocolate?

A: No! We use carob, a dog safe alternative to cocoa products, in some of our cakes, cupcakes and treats. Chocolate is toxic and should not be fed to dogs.
